DescriptionThis is a 1-year grant funded part-time position.
The position is responsible for administering the Residency Grant funds to identified students by the University of Montana Western Education Department.
Customer service via phone, walk-ins and emails is required with the students within the Residency Grant program.
Awarding of grant funds as notified.
Will work closely with Financial Aid Office, Business Services, and Education Department.
Communication is key for these Grants & creating a shared excel spreadsheet will be required.
Learning financial aid processes to help in the determination of an over-award and how to resolve it.
Willingness to learn and assist in other financial aid processes as needed.
Requirements Associate degree or equivalent experience.
Customer Service Oriented.
Strong communication skills and able to have consistently positive interpersonal interactions with students, families, agency representatives, faculty, and staff.
Must be able to understand and effectively communicate complex policies to customers and staff.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must be willing to cross-train in the duties of other staff members.
Ability to organize and coordinate large workloads in a timely and effective manner.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong documentation, research and resolution, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills.
Detail oriented.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently.
Proactive self-starter.
Preferred 2 years of financial aid experience.
Experience at an institution of higher education.
Experience with Banner software.
